Desi is an energetic and independent young female puppy from Italy. Desi's breeder Elisabetta described the puppy to be brave and independent, and the breeder's analysis of the puppy was perfect, Desi is exactly what we expected based on the descriptions. Desi moves confidently on all surfaces and loud noises haven't bothered her at all. She is brave and brisk in new situations. With large, strange dogs she might be a bit prudent and does not go jumping in anyone's face, but she behaves sensibly. When it comes to strangers, Desi is a bit reserved. She is not afraid of anyone, but she does not show great interest to strangers either. In Desi's opinion, men, women and children are exactly on the same line, she might be interested in them or not. Sometimes she wants to lick and cuddle with strangers as well.
Desi lives with two old border collies and one young border terrier at Saara's place in Iittala. Desi has a good ability to calm down and has been able to sleep even in the middle of commotion. On the other hand, she also loves to run and jump. She is independent, often you can find her sleeping on the other side of the house. The terrier has trained Desi to be a very loud player. Desi is greedy for food and has not had any stomach problems so far. She is a fast learner and she is easy to reward with a toy. She likes to play fighting games with a person and she returns the toy with pleasure. Desi is quite loud and lets you know by vocalizing if something is wrong. She squeaks if she has to poop or pee or if she is overtired and can't wait to go to sleep. She also barks sometimes, which is good for her future career as a SAR dog. Desi will be active in SAR, herding and nosework. If possible, she might try tracking as well.
