Litter planned for spring 2025
All In For Zec
&
Kit
The third For Example litter is planned for my co-owned bitch Zec. For Zec we decided to use a German male Kit. Zec's litter well be made in cooperation with Zec's another owner, Hanna Toivola. The puppies will live partly with us and partly with Hanna in Nummela. Zec's heat is expected to start in December 2024, and if everything goes as we hope, the puppies will be born in February 2025 and are ready to move their new homes in April. I expect Zec's puppies to be fast, intensively working dogs that will be suitable for obedience, agility and working trials.

Zec is a bit under 4-year-old Swedish import, who lives with her owner, Hanna Toivola, in Nummela. Zec is a happy and fast dog who loves to run and do all kinds of things together with her handler, but on the other hand, she also enjoys her time on the sofa at home with her family. Zec is social with people and other dogs, although she might try to boss around some dogs she considers inferior to her. In everyday life, Zec is easy and uncomplicated, she is not afraid of any sounds or surprising situations, she knows how to calm down when nothing is happening and she has been a nice dog for a family with children. Zec has a small amount of reactivity, which can be seen as barking in surprising situations, but on the other hand, the sociability and excellent nerves makes Zec a pleasant dog to have around. When it comes to sports, Zec is fast and energetic in everything she does. Zec loves fighting games and plays very intensely, she is easy to reward with food and she wants to cooperate with her handler. Zec has quite a lot of speed and passion for work, but at the same time also stability and a good nervous structure, so despite her passionate attitude, Zec is able to work without getting over excited. Zec is not a particularly soft dog, she does not get stressed about mistakes and she is always ready to try again. Her ”problem” in obedience has been distractios - she would like to watch other dogs who are running in the field, and situations where many dogs are training in the field at the same time has been difficult for her. With training she has improved a lot and last summer she competed in Finnish national championships with nice success even though there are 4 rings at the same time, and lots of distractions.

Zec is active in obedience, agility and herding. In obedience, Zec competes in FCI class 3 and in agility she competes in A2 and J2. Zec started herding at the age of 6 months, and she seems to have good qualities for herding. Zec has not been able to visit the sheep regularly, so she has no competition results from herding yet. Zec has passed the MH test with excellent points, 1 for gun shots, meaning no reaction to shooting.

Zec has been perfectly healthy all her life. She has A/A hips, 0/0 elbows, healthy shoulders (x-rayed at 6 months and 12 months), healthy back (LVT0, VA0, SP0) and healthy knees. In the official eye examination, Zec was found to have a slight vitreous leakage in one eye, but the finding is clinically insignificant and is not considered to be a hereditary. Zec has been DNA tested with the MyDogDNA test, she is carrier of IGS, clear of all other tested diseases. Zec's genetic diversity is 37%, which is average for the breed. Zec is a small female, she is about 48 cm tall and weighs 14 kg.

Films about Zec
The father of the planned litter, Kit, comes from Russia, but is living in Germany. Kit is a little bit over 5-year-old mixed-line male, who is doing obedience with his owner Daria Fomina. Kit is a stable, friendly and uncomplicated male who is easy and lovely to live with. Kit is social towards people and other dogs, sometimes he might growl at strange males, but he has never fought with anyone. Kit is not afraid of loud sounds like fireworks or shooting, or different surfaces. He has no tendency to react with aggression and he can live in a big city without problems. Kit has a very clear on-off button, it is active when there is an opportunity to work, and knows how to relax as soon as nothing happens. When working, Kit is only interested in his handler and doesn't care about other dogs, and unlike Zec, he doesn't have tendency to get excited by other dogs running around him. Kit's working style is more like calm and stable than crazy with speed and passion. Kit has been a very easy and simple dog to train, he learns quickly and he easily accepts new rules and criteria. Kit does not use voice while working, and he is cooperative and obedient. Kit loves to play and is easy to reward with both food and toy. Kit is not a soft dog, he can withstand pressure and negative feedback from his handler without getting stressed.

Kit's main sport is obedience, and he competes in FCI class 3. Kit is his handler's first obedience dog and has started training when he was about 2 years old, but he learns quickly and has progressed from the basics to a high level in a couple of years. Kit has several first prices from class 3 (according to Finnish rules, he would be an obedience champion) and has competed with nice results in the regional championships in Germany. Besides obedience, Kit has done some herding and he has passed the NHAT-1 herding test.

Kit has been healthy all his life, he has no allergies or stomach problems, and has not had any major accidents. Kit has healthy A/A hips, 0/0 elbows, healthy shoulders and healthy eyes. Kit's back has been x-rayed unofficially, because in Russia there is no official grading system for spine. I've seen Kit's x-rays myself, and he has a LTV type 1 in his back (independent spinosus process of the first sacral vertebra, which is separated from the medial sacral crest). Kit has been DNA tested with the MyDogDna test, he is carrier of CEA, clear of all other tested diseases. Kit's genetic diversity is 37%, which is average level of the breed. Kit is a medium-sized male, 53 cm tall and weighs 18 kg.

Zec is a Swedish import from the All In For kennel. Zec's family mainly represents Swedish and Norwegian herding lines, although both of Zec's parents and her littermates are mainly sports dogs. Zec's mother, Emenems Elle, is a very pleasant, fast female who has competed in obedience, agility and herding. Elle is Swedish Obedience champion and has completed the herding test that is needed for breeding in Sweden. Zec's father, Vallhunden Chapman, is also a very talented and successful obedience dog, he is Swedish Obedience champion and has represented Sweden in the Obedience WC and Nordic championships for several years in a row. Chapman's full brother Vallhunden Yoda, on the other hand, has been in the Swedish national team in herding. Zec's siblings are mainly active in obedience, and 5/7 of Elle-Chapman puppies are already competing in FCI class 3. Zec's brother Crei-Zi, who lives in Norway, represented Norway this year in the Obedience World Championship. Zec's father Chapman also has a few other successful offspring in obedience, e.g. this year's Obedience World Champion Interforce Tsunami is Zec's half-sister from the father's side. The personalities in Zec's siblings are somewhat different, some of the siblings are fierce and quite strong dogs like Zec, and some are clearly softer kind of dogs. Zec's sister Judy, who lives in Finland, has shown some fears, she may react strongly to surprising sight, smell and sound stimuli. Judy is not really afraid of sound, she does not care of loud noises such as gunshots, but e.g. a swan flying over the house or a stranger suddenly appearing on the other side of the training field can be scary. Both of Zec's parents are brave, good-natured and confident dogs, but in Zec's father's family there are several soft and sensitive dogs, and in her mother's family there are dogs that are sensitive to sounds (e.g. my imported dog May, who was a half sister to Zec's mother Elle).
Kit has a pedigree of mixed lines, his father's family is mainly British and European working lines, and his mother's family is 50-50 working and show lines. Kit is bred by his owner Daria, and Daria knows Kit's mother's side of the family very well. The dogs in the Kit's mother line are strong, brave and self-confident by nature, and they have mainly been trained in obedience, agility and SAR. Kit's father, Flyland Natural Wonder, comes from the so-called "agility line", although he has competed only in frisbee and herding. Kit's father's breeder Svetlana Kreslina is a long-time agility competitor and agility judge, and she has competed with Kit's father's full sister Salsa (Flyland Nothing's Impossible) and her dam Lista Bella in agility World Championships with good success. Kit's grandfather Eiri Greme Ray has some offspring that are competing in herding as well. Kit has only one sibling from the same litter, Kiss of Frost Cranberry, who has been active in obedience, herding and has worked at the airport in search of explosives. However, the same combination has been repeated later, and Kit has five younger full siblings from this litter. Kit's siblings compete in obedience, and some have passed the NHAT-1 herding test. Kit's siblings are quite similar in nature to Kit himself, they are very trainable, uncomplicated dogs with no fears or weaknesses.

Pedigree of the litter
Zec is from a litter of seven puppies, and her all littermates have been health checked at least for hips and elbows. In Zec's siblings, the hip results are: 3x A/A, 2x B/B, 1x C/C and 1x C/D. The elbows are healthy in all seven. Zec's brother, Freddy, who lives in Denmark, was diagnosed with asymptomatic OC change in one shoulder on official x-rays. The others that have been checked for OC (Zec, Crei-Zi and Judy) have healthy shoulders. Two of Zec's littermates have been checked for spine anomalies, they both have healthy backs. Zec has half-siblings from both parents' sides: 19 half-siblings from the mother's side, 15 half-siblings from the father's side. Zec's maternal half-siblings have mostly healthy hips and there are no OC cases among them. Zec's paternal half-siblings have a few C hips and one operated OCD. Zec's full siblings and half siblings do not have epilepsy or autoimmune diseases. Zec's grandfather from mother's side, Emenems Jake, has 151 offspring, and among them there are all kinds of health problems, as expected when the number of offspring is large. At least four of Jake's offspring have hip dysplasia, four have cataracts, one has epilepsy, and four have OCD. On father's side, one of Chapman's full siblings has cataracts, and Chapman's full brother Vallhunden Yoda has left several OCD cases and one epilepsy among his offspring. Apart from the brother's puppy, there are no epilepsy cases in Chapman's close family. Chapman's father Shep is also a grandfather to my own dog Hukka, and there are some first and second generation offspring of Shep that have been diagnosed with spondylosis at a young age (my Hukka and his brother Visa, for example).
Kit has six full siblings in two different litters, three of them besides Kit have been x-rayed. All of Kit's x-rayed siblings have health hips, healthy elbows and two of them have been x-rayed OCD-free. Kit's sister had her spine unofficially x-rayed, she has LTV clear spine. Kit has four half-siblings from his father's side, two of which have been officially x-rayed, both with A/A hips and 0/0 elbows. None of Kit's siblings or half-siblings have been diagnosed with OCD, autoimmune diseases or epilepsy. Kit's sister, Kiss of Frosty Cranberry, has died at the age of 3, as she developed acute neurological symptoms, she was examined with MRI, and the scan showed lesions in the brain that fits with viral encephalitis. There was no time to treat the encephalitis, because the dog died of aspiration pneumonia. Kit has quite a lot of relatives on his father's side, his father's three full siblings have been used for breeding, and Kit's father has more than 100 half-siblings on his father's side. The health situation of the family is good, there are a few looser hips and some autoimmune diseases (one allergy and a couple of immune-mediated eye diseases). There are no symptomatic OCD cases known in Kit's near family, but most of them have not had their shoulders officially x-rayed, so the actual OCD situation in the family is unknown.
